Day 9: Beach Day Check out the first eight days of our road trip here.
To mark the 30% completion of our trip we spent one relaxing day in Connecticut. Full disclosure, the weather sucked. But we still tried to make the best of our beach day before heading back to the hustle and bustle of city life.
Road trips are a fun and adventurous way to travel. But the scenic perks come with downfalls. For one, you’re constantly on the move - this means lots of packing and unpacking. As a passenger you have downtime in the car, but constantly driving long distances can get tiring for the driver. That’s why it’s important to schedule a few days for relaxing during long term trips. Otherwise you’ll get burnt out much quicker (we learned this the hard way).
There wasn’t much that peaked my interest in Connecticut, that was until I found Madison Beach Hotel. Located on a private beach with a scenic shoreline, Madison was the perfect destination to recharge before we continued our crazy road trip.
Our room featured a furnished large porch overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. The fresh air and peaceful beach was the perfect back drop to my murder mystery novel. At night we went for a walk on the coast and admired the scenery and gorgeous homes (can you say #goals).
Overall, Madison was the perfect stop to relax and recharge before embarking on the rest of our journey. Hopefully we’ll get to see some sun soon 🌞
